Althouse Custom Picture Framing
Dianne Althouse is a retired CPA who went into custom picture framing over 12 years ago in order to create frames to complement her
own artwork. She loves doing conservation framing and has taken several classes taught by conservators from the Smithsonian
as well as classes in design, mat techniques, glazing and old time decorative mat design from the Professional Picture
Framers Association. Everything is hand cut from the backing, to the mats, to the mouldings and the glazing. This ensures
a unique and quality design. Dianne is familiar with many art forms and brings a unique perspective to your framing experience.
Dianne is also a scrapbook instructor, a computer tutor, and occasional speech and debate coach for local high school and college
students.
Althouse Custom Picture Framing is unique in that we are a mobile framer. This means we bring the samples to you. While
this may require a little more time for the design process it allows us to ensure a better overall design as to color and mouldings
since we are using your lighting and decor as the basis. Ultimately, the design will always be what is best to enhance the item
being framed, but it is easier to pick when you are where that item will be eventually located. When you contact us you will
be asked many questions and if it would be possible to email a photo of the item(s) to be framed. We will then come out with
samples for you to pick from. At that point a 50% deposit will be collected (major credit cards are accepted except AmEx) and
materials will be ordered and the framing will begin. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for items to be completed as nothing is ordered
or built until you decide what you want. Your balance will be due when the item is delivered. All that's left to
do is Hang and Enjoy!
